How to Find Someone's Personality Type

Typing others accurately can be a very beneficial tool in daily life.  Most find that doing so is enjoyable and eye-opening.  Typing others helps us understand ourselves and what makes us tick.  It also helps us understand others and improve our relationships with them, allowing a change in the way we view, talk and relate to others.

Type watching is complex and involves a lot of contingencies.  Over time it becomes natural and intuitive.  Remember that it is easy for someone with limited knowledge of the Myers-Briggs and limited experience to mistype someone.  Becoming a good type watcher takes practice and time.

It is extremely helpful to apply your knowledge of all the preferences, functions, temperaments, and profiles.  It is very rare for someone to fit into an exact mold and characteristic of a specific personality type. As with a puzzle, you don’t have to have every piece in order to see what the puzzle is.  Elimination and deduction are much-needed skills to be used.
