ESTP: The Promoter

ESTP’s are versatile, alert, persuasive, and easygoing realists.

Throughout history, the bold ESTP has entertained and amazed others, proving their influence along the way.

Yearning to make impact, the ESTP has an opinion on just about everything.  Never afraid to say what is on their mind, ESTP’s can sometimes come across as being arrogant.  But the ESTP will surely tell you that they are just simply telling you "how it is."  This direct approach alienates some but gives them followers as well.

The ESTP doesn't fray from reality.  In fact, their comfort with reality and their need to be enthralled in it often causes them to dive headfirst into situations, testing barriers, and taking risks.  ESTP’s need to be engaged and need to have some type of fun or action.  If they don’t get this out of a situation, they are likely to lose their attention and perhaps even cause a disruption.

"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are"

In touch with their surroundings and good with visual details, the ESTP is able to pick up on slight changes of expression and notions of awkwardness in others.  When ESTP’s tap into this subtle awareness, they have a remarkable ability to tell people what they want to hear.  Slick, smooth, lively, charismatic, the ESTP knows how to draw a crowd and enthuse them.  Furthermore, the ESTP is often able to pull off their desired response in others.

Many ESTP's see small daily tasks as competitions between themselves and others.  Even when it comes to menial activities such as work or video games, the ESTP is likely to have a win-at-all-costs attitude.  But make no mistake, the ESTP is comfortable with this and enjoys it.

"Boldness is my friend."

A lot of rock stars are, in fact, ESTP.

ESTP’s trust their impulses (and are good at it!)

ESTP’s are of the Artisan temperament.  Artisans are adventurous, action-oriented, and spontaneous. Artisans live in the moment and strive for a range of experiences.  The personality types that share the Artisan Temperament are ESTP, ISTP, ESFP, and ISFP.
